What is imagination?

'I was roaming in the desert and searching for the source of water, unexpectedly I found myself on the beach as I walked near the water it freezes.'
This example is to make you understand what 'Imagination' can be, it can also be walking on the moon, but do not conclude from it that in order to qualify as imagination it needs to be unusual or fancy. Something could be as normal and simple as your outer world. You can imagine yourself sitting on the couch and eating your favourite dessert and it could be yet your imagination. The beauty of Imagination is that it has no limits, no rules and definitely no boundaries. Many theorists have tried to define imagination. There is no singular definition to define imagination. In more simple words Imagination is free space which you created for yourself.
We can discuss what makes our imagination and there is one major aspect which decides what we will think.
Personal experiences - Our imagination is somehow connected to our own self, on this point many argue that they imagine lots of things which they never saw in their life but the thing is subconsciously our mind picked it up from our surroundings only. There are chances that we didn't remember when and where we plucked it.
Imagination as Personal Realities
Imagination is a personal reality and which we live for a short period of time. When we imagine something we live in it. To discuss it further first we need to understand what is a reality for us.  Reality is the thing which existed in front of us. The thing which we can feel, that thought which retained the power to control our emotion, at least for that particular moment. Majority of the time this reality is different versions of the events we experience in our outer world if not somehow connected with it.
Or Imagination can be also defined as the ability to create new ideas, concepts, plans or different scenarios of preexisting things inside our brain.
Imagination makes us open to different possibilities, different realities which can co-exist together and it increases the brain's ability to arise with new ideas.
Ultimately imagination gives birth to creativity. Everything, even a slight move we make, we make it in our mind first, only then it becomes reality. We can only create things when we think about it. The more Imaginative you are, the more creative you can become. Importance of Imagination is well appreciated in the fields of art. But in every field new findings, new scopes, new theorems are jobs of creativity, apparently which come from imagination. We all imagine but the only difference is some people learn the trick to use it for creating something different.
