The cycle of birth is a concept which addresses the process of birth, death, and rebirth. In Hinduism, this cycle of birth is the prominent belief.

According to this hypothesis, the soul is immortal and it never dies. In Hinduism, all souls go through birth, life, death, and rebirth and this is known as the cycle of samsara.

According to the notion, a soul is known as Atma or atman which is a piece of Brahman(Universe), and to become one with Brahman again a soul has to complete many cycles of birth and death until it gets absorbed in Brahman.

Philosophy also believes that human life is the greatest and supreme life any soul can receive, which is decided by karma.

To understand this concept more easily, just like people change clothes, the physical body is like cloth for the soul, the soul changes many bodies (like we change many cloths), to reach its final destination.

Karma and Moksha

It is mentioned in many religious Hindu texts that when a living being dies, its Atma will be reborn or transformed into a different body. A new body of atma will be conditional on its karma in its last life.

If a living being has good karma in a previous life, then their atma will be reborn or promoted into something better than they were previously. Human life is considered as the highest honour and the soul gets it as a reward. Body for soul depends on its deed. Insect life is considered as the worst life, the soul retrieves it as punishment for its bad deeds in its previous lives.

The ultimate goal of human life is considered as Moksha which is freedom from this cycle of birth and death and finally absorbs in the Brahman. According to Hindu philosophy to get Moksha, the human supposes to follow karma and dharma wholeheartedly. These deeds encompass helping the needy and respecting every living being.
